Overview: Is thinking visible, valued and actively promoted in your classroom? Do you create opportunities for deep understanding to be developed and demonstrated? What makes you say that? Using current research from the highly respected Harvard Graduate School of Education’s Project Zero and incorporating pedagogical ideology from Making Thinking Visible by Ron Ritchhart and Mark Church, participants will consider the process of developing metacognition in students of all ages and abilities. This workshop will allow participants to experience what it means to be a part of a Culture of Thinking as we consider student thinking and understanding through the lens of Visible Thinking routines.
